The Caribbean’s first floating hotel or ‘floatel’, is a locally refurbished passenger and cargo vessel which is now open to the public as a fully operational hotel and conference centre.
Captain Basil Joseph, Managing Director has had success with the ‘Treasure Queen’ Tour / Party Cruiser and his most recent venture is Trinidad’s newest hotel which features a maritime theme. This ‘floatel’ has a state-of-the-art conference room, restaurants that seats up to 120 guests and 64 cabin-styled rooms ranging from single to quadruple occupancy. It is permanently moored at Pier 2, in the sheltered Williams Bay harbour, in Chaguaramas.
This ship accommodates several attractions. ‘The Aurora,’ is a state-of-the-art, high tech conference center, which is one of the largest on the island. The fine dining seafood and steakhouse restaurant ‘High Tide,’ offers both indoor and open air dining. ‘Seacrets Ocean Lounge,’ offers exotic cocktails and exquisite martini service as well as local and international drinks, all indoors with an open air surrounding deck. ‘Treasures’ Floatel provides cabin style rooms all equipped with flat panel LCD TV’s, digital cable and wireless internet access. Rates per night will be competitive and includes complimentary breakfast. It is now the world’s fourth floating hotel.
